I am married to USC, my children are the derivatives and we all received the immigrant visa. Conditional GC.
We will enter the US for first time with Visa. We want to request a re entry permit for my son so he can go back for 2 years. Is it possible to request immediately after entering the first time? (will not have the plastic GC yet,,) If granted the REP,How will this affect him when I do the removing conditions later on if he is out of the country?
and if he turns 21 while removal of conditions does that affect him?
How is it possible to expedite the request for biometrics for the re entry permit?
Are there any documents we need to prepare for the REP?

Hi keepinggc,
You would need to apply for reentry permit using the Form I-131 travel document. The validity of the reentry permit issued to conditional residents is for two years from the date of issuance of the permit or up to the date of application for the removal of conditions on residence.Copy of the permanent resident card Form I-551, fee of $360, proof of residence and copy of Form I-797 should be submitted along.

What is proof of residency?
If he can not remain for the biometrics, can he leave after submitting the request and return when the biometrics is scheduled?
 
He must be inside the US when submitting the I-131 (including when USCIS receives it). Then he can leave the US, and return for biometrics.

what is the meaning of including when USCIS receives it? how do we know they received it? how much time does it take them to receive it? (he can only stay for a week)
 
I'd use priority mail or something and add tracking so you know for sure that USCIS receives it. It's important, and being denied on this technicality will really frustrate you. Priority takes 2 days. Express will take 1. Even first class mail will take less than a week, but I wouldn't risk it.
