Re-entry Permit Application Location

Hi,

I'm currently working in the UK on an assignment and a LPR since 2005 and have a valid Re-entry permit (filed from Phoenix Office) since 2008 and due to expire in Dec of 2010. In early 2010, I had applied an AR-11 to change my mailing address to CA (San Francisco) and has been the same until now.

When I return to the US next month, I plan to live in Phoenix for 5 weeks to apply and complete the biometrics for the new re-entry permit.

A) Do I need to apply another AR-11 immediately on arrival to point to the mailing address in Phoenix after which only I should file for re-entry permit?

B) On the application form, i can provide a Phoenix address to where communication has to be sent. Is that enough or the above AR-11 is important. I still have a Phoenix Driving license and a Phx mailing address.

C) On a related AR-11 question, when I change the address at USCIS, does it also mean I have to change mailing addresses on every personal transaction eg Credit cards, bank statements, others etc to sync up. Reason I'm asking is that all of them currently point to a San Francisco address where we also have a mailing address.

d) Will it cause a confusion or a problem at USCIS if I have different mailing addresses - one on record say Phx, and others where transactions still go to say SFO?

If you are not working for a Company owned by a US entity, it's a total no no to be employed overseas and have US LPR status.
You would have to do a AR-11 first to Pheonix address, as your A-File has the CA address as your current address. You can apply for RP in US and request to have it picked up at the closest US Embassy in the country you are living.
 
My company is a US company and I've been transferred to their wholly owned Europe subsidiary. Nevertheless, my first re-entry permit had been approved and I'm reapplying with same conditions. So I think the LPR status is not in jeopardy.

Can I just update the AR-11 to Phoenix from here today itself, vs waiting to land up there?
 
Question requested is different. I cannot come back in time to get that done this year, maybe after the assignments.

Sorry, but it was just a suggestion, now coming back to subject.

Lawfully you can't file a change of address when you have not physically moved, you can do it from there but it just won't be legal. Plus there is a question of last entry into US on AR-11 and you will not have a answer for that when you are actually not in US.

You don't have to change addresses on the rest of the things as you are using a mailing address for that and it could be different than your physical address.

USCIS will not get confused because whenever you come to US you come to AZ address not CA so your physical address in US should be the one in AZ anyway.

Just have a mail forwarding order with USPS while you are away to CA address, if incase there is any mail that might come from USCIS while you are gone, but do not change it through another AR-11 as your physical address in US always have been the AZ address.

On the last point, just to confirm, my physical address has not always been AZ. In early 2010, I had changed to CA as I had to come in and out a lot of times to SFO and my family was based there temporarily. I can plan to file AR-11 just before I submit the Re-entry permit and leave it as Phx , at least, until after I get it.

The reason, I asked about USCIS having confusion is that one time (do not remember exactly) in the last 2 yrs, it sent me a letter asking to confirm if the address had changed and if changed, a reminder to apply for the AR-11. I figured, the USCIS may have got some indication from the postal dept etc which had a fwding address or some-other and had not reflected in an AR-11. Do you know how that might happen?
 
They mave have picked it up by the customs declaration form you filled up upon entry into US and turned in, and send you that letter.
