Hi All

Il try to keep this a brief as possible and would appreciate answers to any or all parts.

I have won the dv lotto and am now in the us. I have a ss number from a j1 visa that i had. Do i have to go to there offices and change it or the card or anything? when i tried to open a bank account as a perminent resident they wouldnt let me untill my actual GC arrives

I am on the west coast but i put my address to have my GC sent to as a friend of a friend who lives on the east coast. I am currently living in a hostel on west coast and will be for the nxt few months. When registering with selective services should i put the address im getting my GC sent to down or the hostel im temporarily staying in?? Im also starting work here on west coast in a few days.

Finally i will need to apply for a re-entry permit at the end of the summer so i can go back to my country and gain some experience in my field of work and maybe do some traveling before i settle down in america. Is this easy to do? how long does it take? Do i have to be i the country? What are valid reasons for getting on? and finally should i use the more perminant address of my friends friend again when applying for this or the hostel?

Thanks for any help

once your GC card arrives, you can change the SSN card (the number will stay the same). The bank was wrong not to accept your visa endorsement as a full proof of your residency. Go to a different bank.

about selective service - doesn't matter which address.

You cannot accept employment outside the US - it will be considered as abandonment of your permanent residency in the US.

read the instructions on I-131 for reentry permit (www.uscis.gov).
