Re-entry for third time in 6 months

I have a query about the re-entry under my multiple entry B1/B2 visa of 10 years.

I visited US on two occasions since the issue date in Jan 2007. Once in March to NYC for 10 days to present my thesis work with IBM and other for 16 days in June for a summer trip. I would be going to US again next week for 16 days.

On the first occasion, I told the POE officer that it’s a study trip since I was going from my university. On the second occasion, I told them about my summer vacation. But soon after baggage claim in Philadelphia, I was grilled by two officers who asked me who are you going to visit and all such things. It was surprising since the POE officer had given me the go ahead and didn’t tell anything about grilling by these two officers.

I returned back on 18th June since I began my fulltime work in Stockholm on 19th June. This month of July is a vacation month in Sweden and I was able to get two weeks leave. I will be leaving to US on 20th July for the third time in 6 months. I have return tickets and also the receipt of hotel accommodation.

I wanted to know if there would be any major hassle at POE since I am going to US a month since 19th June and that too for the same reason. ; to spend summer vacation with friends in US. To sum it up, I have spent (10 + 16 days in last six months in US). I will be taking anyways my hotel and ticket receipt. I have Swedish work permit of two years and a residence too here.

I spoke to the embassy here in Stockholm and they told me there should no trouble as you spend a max of 2 weeks in US on each trip and you do not have to show any documents.

What do you guys think??

No one can guarantee whether you will be granted entry or not. I personally don't see you overusing your multiple entry visa, however I am not the POE officer admitting you. Just curious, what citizenship do you hold?

Hi

The final decision to allow entry is the poe officer, I would take proof of strong ties to your home country (financial, emotional and family ties) so if taken for secondary questioning you proof that you do not have immigrant intent

There is nothing that says you can only visit xxx times in a year. What they look at is the number of days you have been in the usa since the preceeding 12 month period
