one-of-u,

I travelled outside the US three times in this past two years since I have been granted asylum status, I always go to the US passport line.

There are two lines at the JFK airport in New York. One is the US passport line and the other is the foreign passport line. RTD is obviously not a foreign passport so I went to the US passport line everytime I returned to the US.
Practically, I don't think it is really matter becuase you are more likely need to go to a special room for stamping anyway.

BTW, I submitted my i-485 application two years and I don't have my green card yet.

I noticed that you mentioned that you have been finger printed last time you re-entered the US. Cound you specify if that was a full print of your hands or just the right index finger print which is required by the US Visit? As far as the documents I read, US visit is only applied to the non-immigration visa holders. Asylee is not one of them.

thanks

one-of-u,

The officer at the port of entry fingerprinted my right index finger. I was very surprised. I went to Europe a couple months before that and I was not required to be fingerprinted.

I don't know if it was becuase of the ignorant of the officer or another discretionary thing. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal.

Cchong,

This was an ignorant officer as the requirement to fingerprint and have a picture taken is for "VISITORS" and the program is called US-VISIT if I am not mistaken. This does not apply to Refugees or Asylees and they have our pictures and fingerprints so there is no need for them to be collecting them again and also we are not entering US on basis of a visa that has been granted to us from a consulate.....

Regards,
