Re Entering the US after 10 months on GC

My mother has been in India last 10 months. She went for a visit and got sick. Doctor advised not to travel for about 6 months. Now is she is all recovered and would like to come back. We did not file a re entry permit since it was an unexpected event. ( My understanding is that reentry should be filed before leaving the US)


Can she enter the US without any issues? Would they accept the doctors note? Anybody had similar experience kindly share.

If she doesn't have a recent history of long trips outside the US, they probably won't give her a problem for this first long trip.

But there is still a chance of problems if she encounters a strict immigration officer, so it would be good to carry the doctor's note, and other medical records related to the trip (e.g. lab tests, CAT scan diagnosis, whatever).
