Re-Enter US with old H4

I am currently working with company \'X\'. My(and my wife\'s) passport are stamped with old employer\'s \'Y\' H1(H4) Visa. My H1 transfer(from company X to Y) is in the process. Transfer approval has still not come from INS. My wife is currently visiting india and she would be returning soon. My question is , can she come on her old visa(h4) . What if at port of entry she is asked whether I still work with company X. She would say \'No\' but then she also does not have h4 stamped with new company. Can somebody help?? It\'s very urgent

Your wife can enter US as long as she has a valid H4 stamp. It does not matter which company you are currently working for. Even you do not need to get the new H1 stamped on your passport as long as the previous H1 stamp has not expired.
