MY employer had filed for H-1B on my behalf in the master's quota. Their attorney has sent me a scanned half copy of the USCIS receipt notice with the receipt number blacked out.

They say that they have an office policy not to release any H-1 numbers??

I must say that they have been saying this all along.

Does any body on the forum have experience as to why they might be doing this?

please explain

Since this is not a transfer you no need to worry. At the end, they need to provide approved notice.

If it is a transfer, then you must see the receipt number before joining. (before approval).

Hi.. I think that you filed your H1 with some consultant.. and so they (consultant+lawyer) will make sure that they get you H1B papers.. and they know the proceedings and not you.. Once your H1 is approved, and if decide not to work with them, they might not issue your papers until you pay them some money, or work for them for sometime..

Please correct me if this is not the case...
