I am in the US on an H-1 visa and interested in applying for the canadian PR. Is there any website where I can get the detailed information about it; Do I need to hire any lawyer or is it not required.
Go to www.cic.gc.ca ... thats the official immigration website
There is no need to go through an attorney ... but you could if you would like your documentation to be presented in a lucid manner...
I have heard that starting 3/17/03, you have to necessarily apply to a consulate in your home country ....
For example, I had applied for a canadian PR in Buffalo, NY (I am in the US on a H-1B). This is no longer possible is what I have heard. Please check with the website or an attorney...
From my experience and the experience of others, the best in the business is M/s Campbell Cohen at www.canadavisa.com
Let me know if you need any additional information
Thanks for your info. I could not find any place where it says that you have to apply in your home country only. I looked at the cic website and the buffalo canadian immigration website. If you find anything about it please post it.
