re-apply a GC for a kid when she/he reaches 14?

My lawyer informed me recently that I need to re-apply a new GC for a kid when she/he reaches 14 years old. This apply to all minors who was born in foreign country and received her/his GC before 14. I guess it might relate to finger print on the GC plastic card.

Does any one has detailed information or knowledge about how to do that? Do I have to hire a lawyer to do that for me, or I could do it my self? How long would it take for approval?

Yes,you need to reapply for Plastic Card.
