Folks,

My details: PD 3/98, 485 RD:7/21/99, ND 8/31/99
No FP notice yet!

I have been told that RD is what INS considers and
ND is just the date when they sent the notice.

Yet, I have seen many on this board getting finger
print notices with a RD after August 99.

Any insights ?
Thanks
JaK

Hi Jak Jak,

Well, I\'m no Guru.....! BUT, the answer to your question is Receipt Date.

Well, why do applicants with later RD gets things done ahead....?!

Here are the answers:

A bunch of applications to be processed, for example applications received between July 01 - Aug 31, are collected as a whole and placed as a stack. Then the applications are divided (as a bunch) and gets passed on to IIOs for processing. By doing this, officers process applications with different RD at the same time.

I also came to know that the mailing room at VSC gets clogged with so many notices/letters to be sent that they don\'t exactly follow "First In First Out" rule.

If your application is with an officer who has just availed a three week summer vacation, then you can imagine!

So many reasons and we all hope for the best.

"a.k.a. ...Dates are just for reference only..."
