My RD : Sept 2001
ND : Oct 2001
FP : Aug & Sept 2002
Applied for Renewals of my EAD & AP.
As I mentioned above my I-485 was filed in Sept 2001 at NSC. It is still pending for approval.
Even though many of my friends are suggesting me not to leave my current employer and join a new one at this point since it has already been a year since my I-485 filing, I am strongly considering the option of switching over to a new employer because.... major issue is... I/We are not getting paid for the last two and half months. And they may go bankrupt any time! But I think there is still a possibility for my employer

My first question is ... Do you suggest me to switch to a new employer at this point? If so, what is the procedure?

My second question is... I have to change my address also! Is that going to effect my GC process in any way or not? If so, how? If not, can you please let me know the procedure to inform the INS about change of address other than AR-11?

Final question ... Do you know how long it is still going to take to get my approval in my case since there is a change in the automated message about the projected processing time?

I desperately need this info and I have to figure this out by the end of today! I really appreciate your help, if you could pitch in your suggestions!

Thanking you in Advance!!

-----Oh, yes, you are unpaid and hungry now. You can use your EAD. Just show your new company your EAD and you start to work right away. I changed job after I-140 pending for 10 months. Any risk? maybe but I consider it won't cost my GC. Try to manipulate the INS. It's worthy. I make twice as much as I did.

----Very likely it will delay the processing by couple of months. The INS may send you a rfe because they realize that you may have change employment. Talk to your new employer if possible to see if they can give you similar job title and description without compromising your salary and benefits. My company is very flexible about this and it is willing to write anything the INS likes to read.

I didn't notify NSC about change of job or address. My wife still has to stay in the old address for a few months. So, technically I do not change address. But I think you can send a letter to NSC and call them two or three weeks later (depending on how soon you want the INS to know your change).

Final question ... Do you know how long it is still going to take to get my approval in my case since there is a change in the automated message about the projected processing time?

------If you are among the fortunate few you will get approval anytime soon. But if you are unfortunate enough, you may still have to struggle for a few months. The INS enjoys torturing people.

Don't hate me if INS hurts you because you follow my opinion.

All the best.
