Hello,

I sent all the forms I130, I485, etc to Chicago lockbox 2 weeks ago. I sent by USPS registered mail. I checked the status of the package online and it was delivered July 11 at 8:48am. Since then I have not received anything back, no NOA, checks not cashed.

So I am wondering if my stuff got lost somewhere. Judging by your signatures it looks like within within 7-10 days everyone has received NOA in the mail and checks cashed. It's been 12 days for me and nothing.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
 
WHAT was the EXACT date you sent your things in?

2 weeks ago was around the 4th of July I am sure the USCIS offices were busier during that time period, be patientthe process will prgress, if there is a delay it could be do to your Application ebing handled at a busier Office or you may have missed something when submitting it.

I suggest wait another week, then if no NOA's or if your check wasn't cashed call the USCIS customer support number OR schedule Info pass.

I also suggest you put your time line in your signature & include in your posts see my signature below,

Go to upper left of the page right above Post Reply Button you will see "USER CP" click on that then "Edit signature"

That way everyone on here has a bit more info to better answer your questions. For example some people have similiar delays based on which service center intially handles their processing, also based on which Service center received their package initially. after Chicago Lockbox.

I know the anxiety of it all can be frusterating, as with most Govt. offices & processes they take time

The exact day was what I mentioned earlier...delivered to USCIS on July 11 at 8:48am, a week after July 4th. But yeah I see your point, could have been a lot of people taking vacation a day or two off the week before for July 4th and there may have been some delays because of it.

If the application is incomplete, is it sent back?

I'll make an info pass appointment for Friday, then if nothing shows up by then I'll go and inquire.
 
Addie's suggestion is great, we should ask everyone to do so.

Fore, I sent in mine around same time as yours. See my signature file below. I got my NOA in the mail on 7/20. Depend on where you live, it could take longer time for postal mail to reach your home.

If your application is incomplete for some reason they will send it and the check back or if it is a matter of you needing to submit support evidence the USCIS will send you a letter call an RFE or request for evidence, Once you see that your checks are cashed it is a good indication that so far yur petition is "accepted" barring any need for additional eveidence it should take Aprox. 30 days to get your Biometrics FP done.

Horriba where did your NOA's come from what Service center ( the first 3 letters in your Rceipt number indicate which Service Center started your Application.

Mine was MSC-Missouri Service Center, My Do is Los Angeles
 
mine were from MSC, while DO is San Francisco. I checked the case #, couldn't find them in the system yet. I guess it takes some time for them to show up online.
 
Quick question...Why did you send your immigration package to Chicago Lockbox? All of the information that I have gathered from the USCIS website and from the instructions on the "I" forms have indicated that I send the package to Vermont. It seems to me that others in the jursidiction of Vermont are also sending their immirgration package to Chicago. Is there something I am missing?

Yes there is. You should have sent the package to the Chicago Lock Box facility, no matter what your state of residence was.

I don't know how you could have missed this webpage on USCIS.gov, right before you download the I-485 form, under the the relevant heading "Where to file"....

Don't be too hard on him/her. On the forms themselves there is no mention of Chicago lockbox, I almost sent them in to the wrong place as well..
 
Somewhere amidst the hundreds of pages of instructions I studied and printed prior to filling out our papers, there was a note about what the USCIS would do with papers filed at the wrong location after the implementation of the Chicago Lockbox. I'll try to dig through and find it, although someone here whose brain isn't addled by all this probably knows the answer straight out. Agreed, it can be confusing.
 
OOpss, assuming that We have to wait longer. :-( Thanks for all the reply. I think we confused due to the I130, I765... shown the address is VSC.
