My I-485 got approved on 19th July, while I was visiting India. I came back yesterday and found to my relief that I-485 has been approved and courtesy copy in the mail. My details are:

EB2/India
Priority Date: 28th July 2000
RD: 8/23/01
ND: 10/16/01
AP: 02/02/02
AD: 07/19/02

Couple of questions:

1. Can I go for Passport stamping with courtesy copy??
2. Do we need to take appoinment or can go any time between 7:30 and 11:00 AM?? BTW, I need to go to Arlington, VA INS center.

Congrats man!

You can go with coutesy copy to arlington VA INs. No problem and there is no need of appointment. Be there by 5AM or 5:30 AM at least. You may finish up the stamping by maximum 9 AM.

Good luck. Take the 2 ADit style photos mentioned in the courtesy copy, your passport with I-94 and your courtesy copy. You will be done with no questions asked. good luck and enjoy.

Ps: U may have to return EAD and AP if you have them with you.
 
Passport Stamped

We got our passports stamped today at Arlington VA INS center. The process was smooth with no questions asked. We reached there at around 6:15 AM and were done by 9:45 AM.

We submitted our I-94, AP, EAD, and courtesy I-485 approval notice. Also, remember to keep another form of ID with your address like, VA driving license.
