RD 01/04/2002 approved

sucks

Per AVM, my I-485 along with my wife's were approved on June 26, 2003.

A couple of days ago, I saw a thread about approval right around job changing. I fall into that category. I am currently a research associate and just 2 weeks ago, I accepted a university job offer as research scientist in the same research field, and plan to change job by the end of next month. I was hoping that my case not to be approved until after I changed job. But it come a month earlier than my job change anyway. So what's your opinion, should I stay on the job or go to the new job. I really want to go to the new job since it advances my career.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Congrats.
I saw your post earlier also. I think it should not be a problem. Go ahead towards your dream job. . .

In the post AC21 era, there is no need to worry about leaving the sponsoring employer . Go and happily join your new employer.
Who bothers about citizenship from now itself and more over who told you that your citizenship application will be rejected if you don't work for your GC sponsor ?

You can always claim that you were about to use AC21, if you were questioned about job change.

you can change the now as your GC is approved. People hesitate to join the new company when they are about to get the GC approval. In your case your GC is approved already.

Congrats.

Hate to say this, but in the longer perspective (if you are thinking about your citizenship here), it is better to stick with the current employer atleast for 3-4 months, to show the intent to work for the sponsered employer. I know lot of friends in this forum don't agree to this. But that is my opinion.

My 2 cents..

First of all, congratulations!

You could the following:

As you got the new job offer, prior to your approval, you're better placed, than you think. Just mail the offer letter (dated prior to your 485 approval date) and covering letter showing your intent of changing employer using the AC21 provision, ASAP to the BCIS using certified mail. Retain the mailing receipts safely. In future, if an issue arises you can always provide them the evidence that you were trying to use AC21 before the GC was suddenly approved.

This way, you're not fraudulently hiding your intentions from the BCIS. I read it in murthy.com too, where they are of the same opinion. Here is the post - "http://www.murthy.com/uk485cas.html"

All the best with your new job.

Please note that, these are strictly my own views and don't have any legal sense at all, as I am not a attorney at law.

Congrats!

Absolutely no problem in changing your job. Hope, you are not changing your broader scientific research field.

Thak you!

Thank you all for your input, Folks. Since majority of folks appears to suggest me to move on, I will do so. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting for approval, your approval is surely coming very soon.
