Rajudm's I485 approved -- All done... April 2003/EB3 PD 23July2002

Rajudm,
I totally agree with sertra2002 statement below! You are really now unstoppable and you should become a global consultant for Permanent Residence. Wow! I still cannot believe this news and I am sure you might be feeling the same :D :D

So let me understand this. You were born in India, are a naturalized citizen of Australia, a PR of Canada and now a PR of US ! Way to go man, you are a true citizen of the world !

thanks.
First I got the Australian residency in 1992, and later Canadian residency in 1994. Was away in Australia by taking canadian re-entry permit till 1997. I couldn't get back to Canada in-time, so lost it.

I made sure I took up Australian citizenship before entering USA (having heard US immigration horror stories). Unfortunately I too became victim of random processing.

Congrats

Congratulations Raju.
I feel that yours is a retrogression affected case based on the below note from Murthy.com. This might be good news for all the EB3 PD affected applicants.

January 14, 2005 Murthy Bulletin
Alternate Chargeability Available
Applicants are instructed to indicate on their applications if they are permitted to use Alternate Chargeability, which is to be counted against the visa numbers for a country other than the one where the applicant was born. This rule permits children to be charged to their parents' country of birth, but does not permit parents to be charged to their children's country of birth. Further, an accompanying or following-to-join spouse may be charged to the principal applicant's country of birth, but the principal applicant cannot be charged to an accompanying or following-to-join spouse's country of birth.

After going through the process, it doesn't matter which quota it went through. At the most they may ask me to wait until May1st for stamping. I will update what happens at the Newark local office when I go for stamping.

Rajudm,

Congratulations. I knew that you were get stuck due to Namecheck pendng.

thanks. Namecheck is the killer in GC process.

Needhelp1,
thanks for all the support. I am still in a state of shock. Probably requires one more day to realize that the agony has ended.

shishe,
Thanks for the list of docs.

Thank you all. I was able to get the infopass appointment for April 14th. Since I needed three appointments in the same time slot, I had to take help from two of my friends and fire the infopass screen at the same time. Earlier when I did from three computers from my home I got my son's appointment in a different slot. This infopass appointment software tells the quality of software developers available in this country....!!! ;) So quality engineers will be needed for non-outsourceable projects. USCIS cannot prevent issuing GCs :D :D

they opened up after 6:00 yesterday. I couldn't get in before that, I guess all the slots have been already taken....keep trying in the evenings. This is another process as difficult as I485 itself :(

Thanks rajudm.
