Here are my details for me-H1 and my wife-H4.

SRC011725xxxx for both

RD = 4/23/01
ND = 5/14/01

Lawyer said to call if no FP by end of May 2002. Well did call first part of June 2002. The paralegal called INS and told to wait.

Now its almost 2003 and do not know when FP arrives. What is a good time frame to expect FP notice?

Wife wants to go to India and do not know whether to send her for 3 months or not? Any opinions/suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

???

If your Qs are not understood completely, how can we give you clear As?

WHAT are your Questions? Fingerprints? H-1/H-4 visas? Advance Parole? English? or Mental Problems?

FPs should not take this long. I'd call INS and find out what was going on. At this point, I'd be calling once a month. You need to find out what is happening and why the FPs have been delayed so long. If they tell you to wait then maybe you will need to wait. I would send a letter though, to document in writing that you are concerned.

What does the online case information system tell you?

Online Case Information says the following -
Receipt Number: SRC011725XXXX

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on May 14, 2001. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 725 and 775 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

Thanks a lot All of You.

I appreciate the replies and excellent suggestions. Here is what I plan to do after half a year of inactivity on the I-485 front.

1 - Call in to TSC and try to get an IIO to schedule a FP order manually and also seek answers from him/her.

2 - Go to Local INS office with the receipt notice and proceed from there.

3 - Let you all know on this post what happened.

All this to be done in 2 weeks maximum. Take care and thanks again,

Be certain that EVERYTHING about your current status is in order before you walk into an INS District Office and call attention to yourself. INS recently had a US Citizen sponsor of a family based appication arrested when he appeared with his relative. It seems the USC had an outstanding warrant and INS did a records search on the USC and discovered it.

UPDATE - 1/2/2003

Contacted IIO - who did a manual order and said that should receive something about FP in 30 days.

So plan to wait before going into INS office. I am all Kosher with INS - on valid unexpired H-1 and wife on H-4 - Both good until Aug 2003.

Thanks for the advice anyways.

Got FP notice !

Some positive news for now.

Wife called TSC and IIO requested FP. And guess what, we got FP notice on Jan 6,2003 with notice send on Jan 2, 2003 the same day my wife called TSC.

The FP date is Feb 18, 2003.

So will go to field office for FP and not for FP inquiry.

Now that the FP is clear - the final Big Tamale Question is when to expect the GC - as my H1 expires August 1, 2003 (end of 6 years) Lawyer has notified to get EAD and AP done, just in case.

I do thank all of you for the help and advice.

Hope my info helps a certain someone I dont even know. Thats the beauty of this forum.
Good Luck and Be patient.
Indeed God is with those who are patient - :)

FP notice

HI, AFK

Did you receive the FP notice for you and your wife at the same time ? I only received the FP for myself, but not for my wife. I do not know what to do to get the FP notice to her. Any thought ?

My wife and I received both our FP notices in separate envelopes on same day.
