Guys,
I sent a fax to the officer who interviewed me on 4th april, and the asylum office sent me a response. In my fax I asked them two questions. First, I asked about my greencard, and then whether I am required to come back to asylum office for approval letter. On april 6 I got a letter from the office. I does nothing about the greendcard. and about the coming back they said I don't need to come back. The officer will make a decision on my case and will send me his decision.

My concern: It is already 10 days since they interviewed why would they send me such letter instead of the approval letter? Do you guys think there is trouble...?

Asylum officers will usually mail you their decision in about 15+ days after the interview. They will also mail their decision to the service center where your case for I-485 is pending. Once the service center receives the approval of your nunc case, they will resumed your adjustment process, and later you will receive your GC.

There is nothing to worry about. A friend of mine went trought the same process in SF, he received his letter 30 days later and then two months later he received his bio3 and 6 months later he received his GC.

Hi guys, I told you earlier that I got a letter from the USCIS. Yesterday, on Saturday 8, I got a special mail from the San Francisco Asylum office. The letter was hand-delivered by the post man. It contained a notice of grant of nunc pro tunc approval dating back the grand date on may 17 2000. Also it included a new I-94 backdated to may 17 2000. Other information in the paper are just the formal things; like how to apply for work authorization, benifits, adjustment of status after one year. I am planing to send a copy this approval to USCIS tomorrow and will let you know the reaction of the uscis after they recieve the new document....

If you have a copy of the RFE letter, make another one cut out a bar code and attach it the letter you are going to send with a trasparent scoth tape - it will make the processing much faster. I did that with my RFE response following my attorney's advice and can tell that it works. Good luck to you. :)

Thanks morning; what I am planing is to a copy of one of those RFE papers I have. I won't cut anything out. Just copy the whole thing and attact it to the new document. Will let you know what happens..
