Quick Question.

at the interview she will get an immigrant visa which will be good for 6 months. Once she enters with it, she will become a permanent resident. The requirement is to establish residency in the US - that is, live here permanently.
 
thanks for the answer. wafter she uses the 6 month visa and gets here. can she go back. to get more stuff, handle business for a short time? and if so how long can she be out for before having to return again?
 
she is allowed to travel. She needs to come back with 6 months. If she says past 6 months, she will need to prove that she resides in the States upon her return.
If she stays out for more than a year, she loses her GC. She needs to get a reentry permit, if she needs to stay out for more than a year and less than two. Reentry permit doesn't guarantee reentry.
