Hi, everybody!!!
I like ur forum looks like everybody tryes to help, shares their own experience..And I have a question too. I know somebody has already asked about this but I just would like to doublecheck.
My husband and me applied for plotical asylum from Belarus in Chicago and having Master Hearing soon. Our lawyer told us that we dont need any evidence even to prepare affidavit...we are worrying...Is he right? Is that just we come and they will tell us the date of the next hearing (thats what the attorney says)?

Really? We didnt have anything when we applied, had an interview and they told us that the case was not denied but its not approved because we couldnt prove of participation in organizations in Belarus...like medical evidence etc. So we recently received some papers (evidence) from Belarus..and Im not sure now if we should bring them to the Master Hearing..?
p.s. Thank you for your replies! Im glad you guys didnt have to prove anything...:)

I think it really depends on the IO. I guess the burden of proof shifted a little bit on the applicant side after Real ID act. I had some proof but it was not enough for the IO back in 2004, however IJ granted my asylum in 4 months after my initial interview. Welcome to club :)
