Questions on offer letter - Please clarify!

I've got a letter from my employer that covers most points discussed for an offer letter in this forum. However it says the same title as in LC and says they will pay atleast $X where $X is the amnt on lc/140. However my current title is higher than the one in the letter / LC and salary is higher than $X. I have written my current title in DS230-I. Will that be an issue?

Thanks,
Dilbert

In the offer letter, you MUST mention the Title on LC/I-140, and NOT your current title.

For salary, you can either say:
"His current salary is ...." in which case your current salary has to be atleast (equal to or greater than) the minimum salary mentioned in LC. In this case, make sure, the current salary you declare is pretty close to your annual income shown in your W-2. Small differences would be ignored, but major differences might be caught by them, if at all they want to look at your W-2. For example, if your emp. letter says, your current salary is 80,000, whereas your W-2 shows 70,000 then I think such a big difference might be questioned.

OR, you can say:
"He will be paid at least ....." in which case the salary has to be atleast the salary on LC. It should not be less than LC salary, it can however be greater.

Dilbert30,

FYI,

On August 23rd 2004, I successfully completed CP in chennai consulate.

My last 3 years W-2 were showing 60% more salary than labor salary.

My last pay stub accumalated gross salary for august 2004 was showing
80% more salary than labor salary.

I didn't face any problems ever in chennai consulate.

VJ2002,

I took passport photos ( front facial) at foto india at the intersection of kodambakkam and Nungambakkam high road. For medical they took 1 passport photo.
Consulate took 2 passport photos. Foto india is aware of new immigration style photo requirements/changes. They charge Rs 75/- for 3 photos.

Yes, consulate asked last 3 years tax returns.

Surprising thing was consulate officer didn't ask me even a single question
at chennai consulate. So i didn't face any interview at all. Officer simply
mentioned that i will receive my visa around a week through courier.

GOOD LUCK for your interview on OCT 27
