Hi Everyone...We live in US. I am the petitioner..I dont work at the moment because of my visa status. I have H4. My husband works with H1B. It has been nearly 3 years since we came to US.

1.Do you think we need an affidavit of support? Or a letter from my husband's company and an amount of money in the bank will be fine?

2. Do we need to get police reports from US OR will it automatically be in their files?

3. Do all the embassy want the translation of papers?

4. As I live in US can I get the translations from my country's consulate? Or is there a specific place which we should get the translations?

I can't answer all your questions but on
1. Either a affidavit of support if your hubby's company isn't paying enough as the USCIS standards are requiring. If he is making enough money and the company is proving this and you have some savings that would be enough...but any employee who is doing the interview can ask for what they want....most likely you will be fine.

2. The FBI will have access to all files from the US but you need to have police reports from where you prior lived from the age of 16 (longer than 6 months)....my friend did get a police report from the local police just to have it and able to show it as well. Doesn't cost a dime to get it.

3. Some have stated that it is on 2nd NL that you need it....for sure you need a Int. birth certificate if your is't in English. If te applicant's HS diploma is unreadable due to language issues you need to have them translated.

4. I don't know if an embassy has a translators business...other wise you need a truth worthy translator since you are responsible for any mistake later on....

Do you have any idea of a form which my husband fill for me in order to show that he will sponsor me?
