Questions concerning switching to the TN visa

Hi

I will be changing my F-1 status in the US to TN within the next couple of months...

I have a couple of questions:

1. In addition to my main fulltime job, I work parttime/contract for another company occasionally while on my F-1 (student visa). When I switch to the TN visa with my fulltime company, will I still be able to work pt/contract for the other company?

2. On my F-1 visa, I am exempt from Medicare and Social Security, when I switch to the TN can I still be exempt from these taxes? Any other tax tips that I should know of?

3. Is it possible to apply for a green card (thru my company) while on the TN vissa?

<You cannot work for multiple companies on a TN. It is company specific>

<Medicare and SS deductions will be made from your paycheck, if you change your visa status from F1 to TN or H1-B or L1>

3. Is it possible to apply for a green card (thru my company) while on the TN vissa?

<The minute you apply for GC, you are showing intention to immigrate to the US. INS will revoke your TN. You would be better off obtaining a H1-B>

NO Not possible. The only way you will be able to do this is to get an H1-B from your primary full time employer. Then file for another H1-B (concurrent employment) for your contract work. You have to make sure as to how many hours you will work as a contractor. You cannto say on the the LCA that you will work for 20hours, and work as a contractor for 40 hours.
