Hi:
It looks like a lot of OCI procedures have changed this year due to the Washington DC embassy outsourcing the OCI process to Travisa. Just wanted to tap on some experienced gurus for the following:
1. Fees:
In Travisa online application form for part A fees are listed as $275. However, in another location of the website they are listed as ($278 consular + $12 service fees) totaling $290.
a) What are the actual and latest fees?
b) is one single money order or cashier's check to be made out to Travisa for the total amount ($290?) ? or Do I have to make our two separate cashier's checks-one for consular ($278?) and the other for service fees ($12?)?
2. Checklist for documents to be be submitted:
I am finding a conflicting document submission list for applying for OCI for Washington DC:
a) Do I have to submit the ORIGINAL US passport, ORIGINAL cancelled Indian passport when submitting the application?
b)Is there any web-link that details the complete checklist of the most updated requirements of all documents, copies etc of everything that needs to be submitted for Washington DC applications (applications for Chicago, SF differ quite a bit)?
2. NAME ON US PASSPORT:
I have three middle names and on attaining citizenship my first US passport had an exact name match as the cancelled Indian passport. However, when renewing my US passport last month, my middle names got abbreviated to my middle initials (first and last name still the same).
Will this mess up the OCI application?
I am sorry for the long list of questions. I deeply appreciate anyone who can assist.
Thanks again,
Allwyn
