Questions about my AP that arrived today.

Can someone please tell me about this AP I received today? It states that when I return to the United States, my AOS will resume.

I never knew that my AOS would be put on hold while out of the country for a week. Is this common?

Also, when I leave to head back to Canada, how do I declare to Immigration Canada that I'm Canadian, visiting but returning to the USA?

Does the AP guarantee my return to the US?

I've got it but now I'm worried. I hate being unprepared.

That used to be the general way most of the GCs (especially non employment based) were processed before. Nowadays it is not relevant. So relax

I appreciate the reply. I have read some inconsistent information on a variety of boards but nothing that is specific for my situation, ableit I know they exist.

Thank you:cool:

Hi WHOZITSDAD,

Would you please let us know following information?

1) Service Center (Texas/California/Vermont/Nebraska/..?) ???

2) Receipt Date of your AP at Service Center.

3) Approval Date of your AP.

This will be a great help to all the people who are waiting for their AP to get an idea of current processing.

Thanks,

Regards,
Harish

AP/EAD/AOS - SENT TO ATLANTA BCIS

Original Service Center: Mesquite Texas - Application Submitted February 2003 (Transferred to Atlanta BCIS)

Received receipt (original notification that application received was within month of filing) for AP July 14th 2003 (Approved July 2nd 2003)

EAD: Received Receipt May 5th 2003 (Appointment missed because it was on May 2nd 2003 waiting for rescheduled appointment)

Hope this might help anyone else. National Service Center informed me that Atlanta shows 30days for processing AP ... I officially submitted request via NCS to check status and lo'n behold it came in the mail.

Still wondering what I"m going to tell Canadian Immigraiton officials when I go home this weekend.

Any ideas?
