Questions about interview cases

1. Do they always want you to have a medical test again?

2. Can husband and wife be interviewed at different times?

3. It is absolutely required to get the "court documents verified by the issuing authority"? Some of our documents are from India and I don't think they do the verification like they do here. All we can do is get them notarized but that would not be "from issuing authority". Anyone run into this situation?

4. What kind of questions are usually asked in the interview?

5. Would it be ok to go without an attorney as we don't have one. Our attorney was our employer's attorney and now I work for a different company and they don't have one.

1. Not if you are not asked to do so again.
2. I guess they will give you date and time for appointment. I think its not your choice. But, you should be able to reschedule it (buy why delay?).
3. What documents? By the way, notary only notarizes signatures not the documents.
4. Please search this forum, you may be able to find some info. Basically, they will ask regarding things already in your application. Nothing to afraid about.
5. It will cost you a little but better to take the attorney with you. Rather safe than sorry. At least you will be more confident when they start questioning. It also depends on your case situation. Was there any specific reason they transfered your case for interview?

Thank you goodsaint. I am sorry for not being clear about certain things. Here are some more details :

1. Not if you are not asked to do so again. (about Medical)

The letter we got says nothing about medical but a blank medical form is included in packet ! Not sure what this means.

2. I guess they will give you date and time for appointment. I think its not your choice. But, you should be able to reschedule it (buy why delay?).

We don't want to delay. But only my wife got the letter and not me. So seems like I am not scheduled yet. I will go to local office next week to find out more about this.

3. What documents? By the way, notary only notarizes signatures not the documents.

It is an adoption document from Indian court. I have the original but I don't think I can get a certified copy after so many years. Someone here will have to certify the copy but they ask that the issuer should certify the copy.

5. Was there any specific reason they transfered your case for interview?

There can be two reasons. First is the adoption or a previous arrest record. The case went to court and I was acquitted.

Still looking for inputs on this. Here is an update.

1. Got the medical done anyways. Don't want to delay the approval in case they want that.

2. Original schedule was just for my wife but I got it scheduled for my interview as well (same date and time).

3. Still not sure about what to do with docs from India. Will just take what we have as there is no way we can get certified copies of that.

4. I tried to search forum for details on interview. Seems like not many people post their experience. I did find a few. If someone can point me to detailed interview experience post, I would appreciate that.

5. Can someone recommend an attorney in Phoenix? I am still iffy about an attorney but would like to checkout the cost.

Thanks.

An acquittal should mean what it says at face value :)
It shouldn't (by itself) lead to an interview - if you were cleared in court, I don't think USCIS would need to know any more details.

Maybe yours was one of those random cases ( you know for quality assurance  )
