Guys,
I am going to apply for asylum without a attorney. My case is strong and I am single, not much paperwork to do. Talked to couple attorneys, felt like I need to teach them the immigration law (well, I learned most of it from this forum).
Now, couple questions, pls help!!!
1. On part C, 2B: Have you,....ever applied for or received any lawful status in any country other than the one from which you are now claiming asylum?
"The one from which you are now claiming asylum" means United States or the home country? I think it should be US, but why it does not clearly state US?
2. For the supporting documents that are not in English, can I translate them into English by myself? Or do I need to find a certified translator to do the job, and if yes, where can I find them?
3. All the supporting documents, such as court order from home country, should I submit the original or should I submit the photocopies?
Thank you very much!!!
