Questions about EAD and AP renewal

I received an email from my lawyer today saying that she wants to apply for my AP and EAD renewal. I got my EAD and AP on 12/2001 and they expires on 12/2002. Is it not too early to apply for them?

Also, how much do the lawyers charge for this kind of applications? I ask this because I will have to pay fees from my own pocket as I am not with the same company.

AP no idea; EAD, they say 3 months before it expires

6 months for EAD

INS website says for renewal EAD you should file 6 months before.

EAD/AP

Forms are pretty simple, you can do it yourself if you don\'t want to pay. INS fee for EAD and AP combined is around $230.
