Sigh....i'm so confused...
i'm totally newbie and have many questions for you :)
Thank you in advance for your patience :) and sorry for my english.
so let's go :)

1) Is it better to write "N/A" or to leave blank if question doesn't apply to me?
For example: i have no middle name (question No.1) or question No.2 (this question does not apply to me).

3) DS-230,Part I.Question No.10.I don't have any relatives,friends, etc. living in USA.I'll go to USA
and i'll book a hotel room and after that i'll be looking for rent a flat or house .So i can't give any permanent address.
Should i leave it blank ?

4) DS-230,Part I.Question No.11.I have read (in this forum) about using mailbox service.Should i write "N/A" or leave it

blank? Should i "buy"/"rent" a mailbox (with address) now and then complete this question No.11 ?

5) DSP-122. Question No.1 "Name"(Last,First,MI).what does the "MI" mean?
If i'm not wrong i should write :" Jackie Brown " ?

6) DSP-122.Question No.6 (b).Should i write an adress of school or just name of educational institution ?

And the last, can i be sponsor for myself because i have no relatives, friends in USA?

No need to apologise, your english is fine;)

for middle name, I would leave blank. it's not that it does not apply i.e. N/A, it's just that u dont have one!!

3) DS-230,Part I.Question No.10.I don't have any relatives, friends, etc. living in USA.I'll go to USA and i'll book a hotel room and after that i'll be looking for rent a flat or house .So i can't give any permanent address. Should i leave it blank ?
It is assumed that u will find a sponsor, and that sponsor's address will be what u provide. Now, if have enough cash, you can do the hotel thing, then get an apartment (which will be tough with no credit history and no job)

4) DS-230,Part I.Question No.11.I have read (in this forum) about using mailbox service.Should i write "N/A" or leave it
This a have no answer for...maybe someone else does

blank? Should i "buy"/"rent" a mailbox (with address) now and then complete this question No.11 ?
it is nearly impossible to rent a mailbox when you are outside of US. you need to be present to verify who you are

5) DSP-122. Question No.1 "Name"(Last,First,MI).what does the "MI" mean?
If i'm not wrong i should write :" Jackie Brown " ?

MI = middle initial. You have no middle name, so simply ignore it

6) DSP-122.Question No.6 (b).Should i write an adress of school or just name of educational institution ?
I just wrote the usual town & city where the school is located.

And the last, can i be sponsor for myself because i have no relatives, friends in USA?

I believe u can, but must show proof that you will be able to support yourself or have a valid job offer in the US waiting for u

US Mailbox service.

Hi markize,

Congratulations on your selection! :)

DS-230,Part I.Question No.11.I have read (in this forum) about using mailbox service.Should i write "N/A" or leave it

I was also concerned about this question and searched around these forums for an answer. From the information I gathered, apparently a US mailing address must be established by the time of your interview just so as there is somewhere for your welcome letter, Green Card & Social Security Card to be mailed to.

As my wife & I plan to travel around the US for a while before settling down in a permanent address, I registered with USAbox and now have a mailing address in Miami which I wrote on Question 11. They charge you to have your mail forwarded, but you can have it forwarded anywhere in the world (including the US) or pick it up if you're in Miami.

I hope this helps and is applicable to your situation.

Take care,

Dave.

From my experience filling out forms for visa in consulate and embassy in the pass years, they want you to fill everything that doesn't apply to you with N/A. I remember last year when I was filling visa application in the US consulate, I left my middle name blank (because I don't have one) in the visa application, They gave me back the application and told me to put N/A for everything that doesn't apply to me. They said "Nothing can be left blank, every single question has to be answered, if it doesn't apply to you, you HAVE to put N/A as the answer".

The bottom line is, they want you to fill/answer everything in the form. Not a single blank question. That way, they can assure that you actually read every single question in the form and did not skip any question intentionally or accidentially.

My suggestion is to fill every column with answer, and fill them with N/A when it doesn't apply to you or when you don't have one.
Then again, this is from my pass experience. I don't think they would penalize anyone who left it blank because I'm sure there are a lot of people who left the answer blank instead of putting N/A.

I hope this helps!

That is very strange....but remember, most front line consulate people are not very smart, and usually want to intimidate everyone.

There are certain questions that lend themselves to a "N/A" answer, and others obviously do not. Not having a middle name to me does not mean "not applicable".

But to be safe, just write n/a. I beg to differ, but I am already in US so I have developed a different mindset over time

hello once again :)
thank you so much for helping me :)

and now i have a question :)

1) DS-230 (part I) Question No.23. Is it enough to write just High School and University ?
And what does "course of study" and "Degree or Diploma" mean ? Please, write some examples.

I've read so much answers in this forum but some people say one thing, others say other

things. But how to write correctly?

We wrote "High School, Town, Country"

Course of study is N/A for High School, for University your field of study and your degree (e.g. MSc, PhD)
