Hi, I over heard someone saying that sometimes USCIS gives "grace periods" for people that wants to become a US citizens and don't have yet the time to do so. I couldn't help to get into that persons conversation and asked her and she said that she had 4 years as a permanent resident when she applied for her citizenship (she says she obtained GC tru marriage but got divorce befor the 3 years of marriage)....
Is this correct? is there a possibility to apply for citizenship without the 5 years of being a permanent resident??
Regards. Mike
