I renewed my national passport through the embassy of my country and don't have the old passport, because they took it. When I applied for adjystment I sent them all the copies of passport (pages with visas, because I travelled to Europe). Will it be a problem that I don't have the passport on hand? They have all the copies and also all the travel documents with arrival records (everything matches).

Thank you.

:mad:it is not recomended to renew your national passport untill u get your greencard. i think u made a mistake by renewing your passport .

You won’t need your national passport when(if) you go to the adjustment interview.
INS doesn’t stamp asylee’s home country’s passports, as far as I learned from this forum.
Just do not say you renewed it unless they ask…

Is it a law? I could always say I lost it. They have a copies anyway.

It is common sense.

It is debatable whether if can use national passport after adjustment. I know many capable lawyers have come to different conclusions. But as an asylee????

Well I did use itcouple of times untill I lost it to trip to Europe along with RTD because it was chiper for me to get a VISA to my pasaport. When I applied for adjustment I just sent them all the copies from my passport and travel documents
