Question: wife in india

I am going through CP for my GC. Since I am married,
does my wife have to stay in USA for the CP or she
can stay in india waiting for the interview?

It does not matter.
If you are on an H1 visa , she can stay with you iin the US
on an H4 ( onless if you dont want that ! ) .
Theres no harm in her staying in india tho .. you need to get her name onto Pkt 3 before mailing it to the consuilate .. does not matter where she actually is .
She will also be called for the final interview with you,

my colleague and his wife (who never entered US) got GC

and they got plastic cards as well while she is still in India.
