Iam new to this forum. Would like to know to what happens when spouse is on H1 status(Initially came to US on H4), but is not working, and time has come for me to file the I 485, what are the documents needed for my spouse. Will this create a problem, that is spouse being on H1 status, but not working. Any updates appreciated.

Better option will be to apply for EAD/AP (spend $195) for your wife. That way she can work at will for any company and don\'t have to worry about visa status. OR Probably, reapply H4 visa for your wife ( which is not necessary)
