Question regarding visa options while waiting for EB2 approaval

I am on a H1B visa, three yeasr now into it I applied for EB2-NIW. The question that I have is what can be done once the H1B reaches 6 years?
Wjat happens if my GC is not approaved? Is there any way to extend the H1B? Thanks
 
If your I140 gets approved, and you are waiting for I485 approval, this is a basis for H1b extension until 485 approval.
 
Or you just remain in "parolee" status and use EAD and AP. The H1B renewal options is a little safer though because even if the I-140/I-485 get rejected you still have status for a while (until H1B year or 3 years run out, depending on whether I-140 was approved or not) and can re-apply for I-140/I-485 (as long you are from ROW).
