I came here in F1 status and I got my social security card a couple of years ago and then i was out of status for 8 months and i recently got my Green Card couple of weeks ago,
so my question is,do i have to go to social security office and update my status as a green card holder or leave that alone and my name was printed wrong on the social security card but i took it light when i initially got the card so can i change my name on SS card if i got to SS office

Yes, you can take your old SSN and your new green card, request a new SSN card without "Not authorized for employment w/o DHS authorization". If you have a drivers license, go ahead to the your local DMV and update your record. Yes, you can correct your name as well, I was once classified as Pacific Islander by someone at SSA, but it was a typo.

What happens it they have incorrect DOB ?

I believe your green card will show your date of birth, which the SSA should accept as correct and accurate. You can tell them they made a mistake in the past when they noted your date of birth. For example, with your old card, the SSA might have your date of birth as 07/10/1975 (July, 10, 1975) but your correct date of birth is 10/07/1975 (Oct 07, 1975) because someone wrote the address using what is commonly referred to British format, day/month/year, The SSA will give you a form to complete, with date of birth, ethnic classification and many other information.

Citi,

Don't blow my cover. I am gong to need your home address, my assistant will prepare a bill and put it in the mail for you. Just so you know, it will only be about $7,500 for the above 2 posts.
