Question regarding number of filers

Can the rupnet database be used as an basis to represent the number of Employment based Filers in NSC, Etc.

If the answer is yes, then there might be some good news( Although no news is good news, just finding some places where we can find any)

As per Rupnet, the number of filers sequentially reduced from Jan-02 to Jul-02 and then there was a pickup again after Aug-02.


Either,
a) Fewer users from Mar-02 to Jun-02 have entered their data in rupnet, whereas more number of users have entered their from Jan-02 and Feb-02 and Aug-02 onwards
b) Rupnet database is too small to rely on.

See attached chart found for VSC center. The numbers gradually decrease from Jan-02 to July-02 and there is a pickup in August-02
 
2 reasons for the low number of I485 filers between March 02 - Jun02 (and for the higher #s after Jun02).

First, the I140 processing suddenly slowed down starting around March 02. Mine, applied early Feb 02 came thru in about 4 weeks, while my colleagues who applied in March, had to wait almost 7 months.

Second, concurrent filing of 140 & 485 started the later half of '02, and that increased increased the # of I485 filings (at least during the overlap period where 485 filers consisted of those who had to wait for 140 to be approved, and those who could concurrently file)

However, even after the pickup (after June-02), none of month's filers are close to the number of filers in Jan-02.

Also, if the reasons mentioned by you/any other reasons slowed down the 485 filing from Mar-02 to Jun-02, the processing for these months should be done quicker than processing Jan-02 cases (assuming they continue to process at the same pace..but we never know)
 
I do not think filers are less. It is better refer the scanner results.
At VSC Jan 2002 has 7368 , Feb 2002 6470, March 2002 7531 , April 2002 9887. Not even 10% total people are updating the Rupnet. People may not have updates the Rupnet for other months.
