Question regarding H1 transfer

Hi,

I have around 4 months left on my H1 and I am expecting to get an EAD within next 3 months through my spouse.

I am currently with a Company A, but planning to move to company B. Can I request for a new H1 just for those 4 months and am planning to work on EAD later? Does INS issue a H1 for just 4 months?

Anyone in a similar situation?

------- best option for you is if you have I-485 filed then you can get 7th year H1 extension based on pending I-485 you can also extend for 4 months

---why NEW H1? file 7th year H1 extension then Transfer from H1 to H1, if you use EAD you will NOT be on H1 status

My I-140 is still pending. I did not file my I-485. But I filed my I-485 through my spouse. Can I use I-485 receipt which I got through my spouse to file my 7th year extension.
