Question regarding green card and A#

Hello,

My mother-in-law was granted green card a couple of months ago, courtesy of her daughter who is a US citizen. At the port of entry when she came over last month, green card was stamped on her passport and told that she'll get the physical card in 6-9 months time.

Questions:

Can someone tell me if 6-9 months is a valid estimate or is it at the higher end? Any info based on recent experience / timelines would be appreciated.

Can she apply for I-131 (Application for Travel Document aka re-entry permit) w/out getting the phsical green card? Apparently the form requires A# and she's saying there is no A# stamped on her passport. Thoughts/comments?

Thanks in advance

-----------------at this time they are sending card in 1-2 months. when did she enter US with Immigrant visa??

-----------YES
Apparently the form requires A# and she's saying there is no A# stamped on her passport. Thoughts/comments?
-----------------------I think her passport page will have A# written. Check her passport.
Thanks in advance

She entered on October 16th - POE was Dallas if that makes any difference. 1-2 months sounds fantastic.

I haven't seen her passport myself yet as she's still in TX. But apparently there is no A# on the I551 stamp. Can someone else refute/verify if an I-551 stamp has an A# or not based on their experience?

Thanks

when they stamp the passport the officer write the A# . she should have A# on the passport page that has stamp.

Just a quick update -

I checked the passport - no A# on the passport. It's just a regular stamp which the rest of us get when entering US.

So - anyone got a definitive answer for my question - pls do let me know.

Thx
