Hello All
I got my GC in 2004 and the category is IR6 and expiration date is 10 yrs. I am sure this is UNconditional GC, but just to be sure can someone confirm this? I was conferred the PR after 2 yrs of my marriage so, according to the law I have received UNconditional GC. Just need someone to confirm what I believe to be true.

Thanks

Conditional GCs are issued with a code that begins with a "C". For example, I moved to the US on a K-1. After AOS, my conditional GC had the code "CF1". After my I-751 was approved, my new GC had the code "IF1". Your GC has the code "IR6", which indicates a condition free card for the spouse of a US citizen.

I thought it was "CR1" and "IR1", not "F"? Is there a difference between an "IR1" and an "IF1"?

My wife and I have been married for over three years, but this marriage just doesn’t work anymore and I’m thinking about divorcing her. In a few months I have to file the I-751 for removal of marriage condition at June 2007 and I’m thinking about applying for the waiver of joint filing requirement. But if I divorce now, divorce not will be final by the time I have to file the I-751. Do they provide an extension if my divorce is not yet final? Also, do most of these cases get approved if the marriage ended in divorce, even proving that it was in good faith? Does it make a big difference if I'm the one that wants to get a divorce but she doesn't?
