Hi all,

My friend was denied asylum and has been put on removal from country. Than he appealed for the last time and waiting for the answer. But meanwhile similar asylees (same country and same reason) in other state able to receive approval. Is there any way to transit case to another state's consideration. If not what are other options he can have in case of denial.
I apprecaite your help and advices.

He must not just proof that he's from the country, but also proof that "same reason" related to him personally.

I guess your friend could move "change address" to another state "under the jurisdiction of another asylum center", but really that doesn't guarantee anything.

Razel, stop giving bad advice to people. It calls sneaking around.
Rules are Rules, case will be just transferred to another Asylum Office and still marked with explanation why it was denied.

If he thinks that his case is denied because of the center location, why not sneak around? I told him it will not change anything but still he can try just to feel satisfied.

As for the "bad advice", Nothing I say here is intended to provide legal advice. you take it or leave it. if you don't like it then please enlighten us with your advices

Legal advice is appeal. What's the point to move around? It's just trigger Asylum Officer. Wasting money for moving. Money for lawyer.
So you are accepting that you are giving illegal advice?

Thxs Raziel,
Uncle Joe you should not assume that all states are equal handed. I knew a person who moved his case and won.
Since I don't know his contact # no idea how to find him.
Lastly others winning without proof, since you can't proof things where only story present. It is not possible to present proofs except words in their case. Finally it depends to the Judge's leniency or conservatism to decide in favor of the asylee.

Hi Zumrad,

You are correct; moving your case to increase your odds is not illegal. When my lawyer and I were preparing for my asylum case, he asked me if it would be a burden to move to another city to file my case under a different more friendly jurisdiction. My lawyer worked at the asylum office in Southern CA before he opened his own practice.

As for 'proof', you may want to hunker down in front of a computer at a local library or at home and do your own research. I did the same for my case and was able to find a Subject Matter Expert to write his expert opinion for my case at no cost. He is a professor for UC Santa Barbara.
