Question regarding AP.

I finally got my AP approved and received. I have 2 questions
1) Both copies are identical with my photo on it. Am I supposed to receive 3 copies or are there others who recieved and used 2 copies without any problem?
2) It doesn't mention on it whether it is single or multiple entry, but having 2 of them, would mean that it can be atleast used for 2 entries. Is that assumption correct. I am curious about it, coz my wife who got her AP fromt he local office received 1 with photo which speifically states it is multiple entry in abox.
TIA

You should receive three copies.

The following quote is from "www.immihelp.com".

The approved Advanced Parole form is
called I-512 and usually three copies of them are given. One copy for the applicant, one copy for the USCIS at the port of entry
and one for the airline(so that they let you board the plane with out other valid visa.) First time you travel, you give the
appropriate copies to airline and USCIS, and USCIS will stamp your copy. Subsequent times, you can just show your copy and
travel.

Hello, my friend!
Regarding your questions:

-- YES.

First of all: DON'T WORRY! This is your own MULTIPLE-ENTRY document.
Don't listen to ANYONE who would demand you to give it up: he/she MUST BE A CROOK. I'm 100% confident of it because I was cheated be airline check-in and sacrificed one of my 3 copies. In Newark I requested USCIS officer to explain me how it works. He explained that I can travel back and forward as many times as I need even with ONE AP copy. Suggestion that one copy is for INS another for airline and only 3rd for yourself IS NOT TRUE.
You are given more than one copy just for your convenience and safety if you'd lose it.

When I instructed my wife this way she didn't give up her AP and NOTHING happened: they had to make a PHOTOCOPY! This explains ALL: they need to leave something for themselves but just lazy to make a copy.
My advice: when being asked whether you have other copies - always answer: NO. Let them do their job, make a copy.

omGV,

When I applied for AP1, I received only 2 copies but the second time(AP2) I received 3 copies. It doesn't matter whether you receive 2 or 3...even one copy is enough. Have some photo copies of the document and give to the people who are very much concerned about it(May be airlines-officials).

At port of entry, I just submitted only one copy of my AP (I had 3), they stamped it, took photo copy of that document and returned me the original. Hope this clears your doubts.
