Question regading AOS and F1 visa

Hello Friends
My husband is on F1 until December 15th but it seems like he wouldn't be able to graduate until next March. Also, his AOS is pending. Will he have to extend his I-20 in order to study or he is fine since his AOS is pending.

He can study while on AOS. If you are filing for F1 extension, it could potentially be denied as there is an intention to immigrate.
 
I am on the same boat. A F-1, Applied AOS, I know I don't need to keep my F-1 status anymore. Once I am done with this semester, I will quit going to school. My status is AOS pending. Good luck!

Does that mean that if a F1 holder with AOS pending gets I485 denied, they become out of status or have to become spouse-dependent status i.e. they no longer are in F1.
Is this still a grey area or are people in agreement on this?
