question re filing RTD

Hi all, I was hoping someone can help me with an answer.
I am filling out the RTD application form and one of the questions is 'country of citizenship'
I am presently a PR, derived from an eariler Asylee status.
After I left for good, I never visited the country from which I am from or obtained their passport so I don't know how to answer this 'country of citizenship' question. Am I technically still a citizen of that country? Though later in the application it asks whether the applicant obtained any sort of right in that country, which I of course haven't. I always travel on RTD but somehow this question was not in the application before.
Thanks for all your comments!

You are still citizen of your country. But you are of course not expected to have travelled there or renewed your national passport.

That is correct. You should list the name of the country that you are a citizen of - even if that is the country you claimed refuge from. For most of us, this is the country we are originally from.

For most countries, you are still a citizen until you formally renounce the citizenship (this is true even if after you are a US citizen). Some nations do not acknowledge dual citizenship - and you might automatically be renouncing your citizenship by becoming a US citizen. Yet, other countries refuse for their citizens to renounce their citizenship - whatever that means!
