I got my stamping done on old passport and now I need to get a new passport from the consulate.

The question is: Do I need to get a new stamping done on the new passport or should I carry my old one and not bother with getting a new stamping??

Old Passport VISA's and Stampings

Even if you get New Passport all the VISA's and Stampings in the Old Passport were VALID, which will be Mention in New Passport Like All the VISA's and ETC in Old Passport were VALID

yes

Thats right. All visa stampings are valid. You dont have to get it stamped again. But you have to carry both your passports on all such occassions where you have to show your stampings (obviously, of course).

I agree, BUT...

In these times of heightened vigilance, it doesn't hurt to be extra cautious.

I would still go the local INS where the original stamping was done, and ask them to stamp it again (or ask them what should be done).

If they can give something that attests to whatever they say, would be gravy.

My 2c.
