Question on travelling using AP

My H1B is valid till Jan 2005 and my current visa stamp has expired in Jan 2003.
I would be travelling outside US and reentering using my AP.
My question is-
When I use AP , will I lose my H1B status ?

(I know the fact that using EAD to work would invalidate H1B status)
