Question on received date, notice date and 180 days

Can someone please tell me how do I count 180 days depending on the received date, notice date. On my receipt notice it says for instance received date july 6th and notice date September 10th so do I could 180 days from July 6th or September 10th?

Please let me know - also if you have any documentation on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much satgym73 - so is that 180 business days (except SAT and SUN) or that straight Calendar days.

I read somewhere in this forum that the 180 days count starts from the day the application reached USCIS and not the receipt date.

The actual received date and the receipt are different for many.

Any thoughts?
 
For me, although the letter says that they "received" the application on Sept 4, the box in the form (under Receipt Date) says July 2nd.
So that's what I'm going to go with.

180 natural days (not business days)
