I have a question regarding the medical exam--the I-693 form. What happens if your medical exam has expired at the time of the interview? I know that the exam is valid for 1 year. Does the district office expect you to go for another medical? Obviously, that would delay the green card. Does anyone have an idea? Please share.

It would be safer at this point since you already know that it would have expired at the time of the interview to get an update from the Doctor, new form recent date.

I do not think it will be necessary to go through the medical again as long as it has only been a year. My opinion.

you don't need to get an update if you are doing AOS and you filed your I-693 with your AOS package. However, if you didn't file it with your AOS, and you are bringing it to the interview - it must be valid at the time of the interview.

Since it is now a requirement to send medicals with AOS, you will be fine even if AOS takes longer than a year. There have been memos about it from USCIS, you can do a search.

yes you WILL be expected to complete another one. But you will not have to take any shots just go back to the Doctor that you first went to get examined

no, he is not expected to get another one, if he mailed it with AOS package. The USCIS publishes this memo all the time, extending the validity of I-693.

Extension of Validity of Medical Certifications on Form I-693

According to an interoffice memorandum from USCIS associate director Michael Aytes, the validity of civil surgeon endorsements on Form I-693 for certain adjustment of status applicants has been extended until January 2007.

In December of 2004, a policy of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) extended the validity of the civil surgeon endorsement on Form I-693 until the adjustment of status application was judicially settled, only for those applicants where no Class A or Class B medical condition was certified.

Usually, for adjustment of status applicants, the endorsement of a civil surgeon on Form I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status, is valid for one year. Some adjustment of status applications are simultaneously filed with an immigrant visa petition as provided for at 8 CFR 245.2(a)(2) and a number of these applications remain pending longer than a year. Without this policy, the medical exams would need to be resubmitted in these cases.

thanks

Thanks, LucyMO. I did file the I-693 along with I-485, I-130, I-131 and I-765.
There's no way my interview will happen before the I-693 expires.
Thanks again. Really appreciate it.

Medical examinations if pregnant

I know we have to submit I-693 together with all the other doc. can I still be examined if I am pregnant? Just got married and I am worried whether I will be ok with the examination.

I have another question regarding the supporting evidence for bona fide marriage. We just got married and we really don't have a lot in common except for some utility bills, some affidavits from our friends stating that we are in this marriage because we love each other and a bank account together with checks in both our names. Is that enough? We also have passes to Seaworld for both of us showing that we do travel and enjoy our time with my daughter (from a previous husband). Should I include a copy of those and some of the pictures we have together?

My husband intends to apply for me somewhere this or next month, no rush.

Thanks.

as far as pregnancy goes, the civil surgeon i went to said that uscis requires you to do only those tests that do not affect your pregnancy. why don't you call your civil surgeon you plan to go to and ask him?

You seem to have lot of evidences. The important ones you need to add are
1 - Apartment Lease
2 - Driving License showing same address
3 - Wedding Pictures
