Question on H1B and EAD

I am staying in the same company and have applied for I-485 since 04/26/02 and I am holding a valid EAD (expired date is 07/30/03). My H1B will be expired by the end of October, 2003. Should my H1B be re-newed or can I use my EAD? If I could use EAD then should I notify my company changing my status from H1B to EAD? When we re-new EAD, should we need a valid H1B? If I use EAD and then when I re-new my EAD next time, my H1B was not valid anymore. Do I have a problem with that? My last question is do we need AP to travel out of USA when we are in EAD status?

1. If possible, renew H1B and try to be in H1B.
2. If Not, you can use EAD to continue work.
3. If using EAD, company would file I-9
4. If you are renewing EAD, you don't have to have a valid H1.
5. If you use EAD, U need AP to re-enter USA.

Same Boat

I was in the same boat and my 6yr H1 expired last month. The company does not want to apply for my H1 extention and they asked me to use EAD.. I do have AP.
