Hi All,

Other than praying, what else can you do to get FP2 notice faster? My FP1 has already expired (see my signature) and still no FP2. Can we do something to "provoke" a FP2???

Thanks!

What I did...

sk2002sk -

In addition to submitting my EAD and AP renewal, I sent a request to Senator Dick Durbin of IL (I live in Chicago) to help me look into the status of my 2nd fingerprinting/background check at Nebraska. Despite the fact that the rep at the National Customer Service Center was friendly, she was not able to offer me anything of substance. All she could tell me was what I see on USCIS Case Status Online. I will let you know when (or if) I hear from Dick Durbin's office.

EAD/AP renewal triggers FP2?

Thanks Japanese.

Is there any evidence to suggest that EAD/AP renewal application triggers FP2? Anyone has any personal experience or knowledge?

Can you actually accelerate the notice for FP2? I don't think so. There is certain period (15 months) where FP1 expires and there's a need for second FP. You can probably get an idea of what this period is, by looking at people's data.

I don't need to accelarate notice for FP2, it is more that 15 months after expiring my FP1, so just expecting, I think now they changed rule, it is not 15 month now, it must be more now. :)

Changing address might do something. I had been waiting for my FP1 since Oct 2002. When I was changing my address by phone in the end of July, I mentioned that I even did not receive FP1 appointment. I was told that changing address may triggle something. Then I received FP notice in mid Augest and did finger printing on August 25.

It seems to me I received the FP notice because I changed address, but I am not sure whether there is really any connection.

I did my FP1 in Jan 2003. The online message or LUD never changed from day1 and has remained the same "570 to 600 days etc". I called the NSC service center twice and mentioned that I have not yet received the FP2, the lady mentioned both the times that it will be sent "if it is required" . So looks like they are fine with my FP1 even though 19 months have passed. Also mentioned to the lady that the FP1 notice was from Texas service center while my case was in NSC, she mentioned that is fine. In 2002 oct, TSC was sending the FP notices and ther must have been some screw up.
Called FBI in Feb 2003 after FP1 and they mentioned that it had been sent to USCIS within a week. Faxed a status check to FBI for name check in July 2004 and yet to receive a reply.
Me thinks, it takes time for name check if you had been to other countries.

From the forum it is observed that it takes about 18 months to get FP2 notice. Also, it seems that when your case will start finalising, that time FP2 notice could be raised. BTW why you worry for FP2, and trying to get faster, it is not going to help in speedy approval. This is what I guess.

I did my FP1 in Feb 2003. FP2 is set on Sept 21, 2004. ND is Nov 02.
