Hi,

PR process has been completed for my family and sent mine, wife's and kid's passport to Buffalo for visa. We may get our landing papers soon. My quick question is :

My daughter is a US citizen by birth. Do I have to inform US government about her Canada PR ?.

And how many days we need to stay in Canada to complete all paper work? I heard from my friends that we need to stay from one week to two weeks.

What are all formalaities required to be done once we enter into Canada?

Much thanks.

No need to inform US about child's canada PR since it has no bearing on her citizenship status. I did not do this for my son.

You can return the same day. All you need to do is complete the landing formalities at the border. you will need to provide them a canadian address to mail the PR card to. You must also provide them a list of goods to follow with serial numbers for high value items. If you need to import a car, you will have to mention the VIN too in the form. If you are planning to move to canada, it may be wise to apply for a SIN at a local HRDC office, they are open half day on saturdays.

You don't need to inform US authorities about Canadian PR. You need SIN # which can be applied the day you land. The formalities for PR card are completed on the airport itself.
You can land in the morning and leave Canada by evening. If you are planning to land via aircraft then it is better to leave via road. This would keep you entry valid as well as option to show your presence in Canada.
